Shining Star Acres served as the backdrop for Sylvia and Dylan's Wedding Day. It was a wonderful day with bright sunshine, sweet family friends and beautiful people. Sylvia has a quiet strength and Dylan is CRAZY about his new wife. You can see it in the way he looks at her. Their first look was the sweetest. Tears, smeared make-up and pure joy summarized their moment together before they tied the knot. I'm so honored I got to be apart of it. Enjoy these images.
A couple of months ago, Allison, her mother and I adventured in Landrum, SC to Campbell's Covered Bridge for her bridal portraits. I love this area and can always find new places to shoot. This trip was not exception and Allison was up for anything. Near the bridge.... on the rocks in the creek..... in the field....she did it all. Here are just a few from her session! Spinning Leaf served as the backdrop for Aaron and Karissa's wedding day on a warm day in September. Filled with fun, friends, family and a softserve icecream truck, we got to experience a little of who Aaron and Karissa really are. They included details and personalization to almost every piece of their special day and I was in awe! Dylan and Sylvia are officially hitched! I'm finally able to share a few images from her bridal session. This was my first session at Shining Star Acres in Ellenboro. It's such a sweet and private venue for an outdoor ceremony. Sylvia is a natural beauty. She exudes a quiet strength and confidence that is rare. Take a look!
What an awesome wedding day for two special people. This wedding was so close to my heart. I've been friends with the groom's family for years and just recently met the bride and her family. I have felt from any other family. We instantly had a connection so I knew this wedding day was going to be a blast. The groom's sister (the amazing Rebecca Haymes Photography) also served as my second shooter for this wedding which made the day even more special. (On a side note, if you are in the Kansas City area, look her up!)
Spinning Leaf located in Shelby, NC served as the backdrop of their beautiful day. Heather and Seth Stevens, Spinning Leaf's new owners have transformed the winery to a beautiful gathering place. Their new outdoor space was finished the morning of the wedding and it's perfectly perfect. Unfortunately, the rain was too much of a threat for Adam and Logan's day so the ceremony was moved inside but that didn't stop us from featuring the space in their images. If you are looking for a wedding venue or event space, check them out! They are simply the best!
Adam and Logan's relationship story is one for the fairy tales. They dated years back, went their separate ways for a while and then found their way back to each other. They have an amazing story so be sure to hit them up, if you want all the details. It's just as precious as they are. They will soon move to Camp Lejeune where Adam is based for the Marine Corps.

Now that Adam and Logan are hitched, I can share some from Logan's Bridal Session at Spinning Leaf (formerly Owl's Eye) in Shelby, NC. Logan has a beautiful spirit and is so sweet and genuine....and absolutely GORGEOUS!! We hit it off from the first moment we met and I'm so glad I could capture these memories for her.

Brooke and Zeke tied the knot on April, 21, 2018 at the beautiful Baker Buffalo Creek Vineyard, located in Fallston, NC. Their ceremony was filled with laughs, love and a whole lot of beauty. Take a look at how their day unfolded.
The details (secretly one of my favorite things) were on point. Wine corks and wedding rings....oh my!
Zeke had this necklace made for Brooke. The pieces belonged to his great-great grandmother and he had it made for Brooke to wear on their wedding day. I had to force myself to not keep taking pictures of it. Isn't it stunning?
Can I just brag on these guys for a minute? My usual wedding schedule allows the groom and groomsmen to have their pictures taken right before the ceremony. This gives them more time to relax before they have to get dressed. For this wedding we flip flopped and asked the guys to go first and they didn't even complain once. They were ready and waiting for me at the EXACT time I gave them. Talk about superstars.... Just take a look at Brooke and Zeke's dog, Butters. Needless to say, he stole the show.
Brooke and her bridesmaids got ready in the beautiful home at the vineyard. There was a small bedroom at the back of the house that was surrounded by windows and had the most amazing light. It was super small but we made it work. At one point there were three (yes I said three) photographers crammed into this room. BUT, it was TOTALLY worth it!
Brooke and Zeke exchanged hand written love letters to each other. One of my favorite moments....
If you know anything about Brooke's dad, he is the life of the party. I can tell.... :) (foreshadowing for some images later in the blog) She and her dad have a wonderful connection and the gift she gave him says it all.
And let's talk about this special lady, the mother of the bride. She is the epitome of a mom to Brooke. She was involved from the earliest beginnings of wedding planning, through the hard decisions about details, to the reception decorating and clean-up. She loves her daughter fiercely (you can tell each time she looks at her) and is her biggest champion. Just look at them! (Insert heart eyes here...)
Off of the back of the barn at Baker Buffalo Creek is an amazing covered sitting area for wedding guests which makes a fabulous ceremony space. Brooke and Zeke's ceremony was beautiful and you can tell they are loved by so many.
